He did this with aggressive, yet tasteful advertising while treating the furniture dealer and their customers fairly. With 30 years of experience, Clay has learned how to apply the same professional approach to stores wanting to close their business. Clays approach to management is on quality, not quantity. His philosophy is to have key members of his executive staff that have real world retail furniture and promotion experience. At the age of 14, Clay started working at his father’s furniture stores. Over the years he worked in every aspect of the business. As any furniture dealer knows, boots on the ground is the best training you can ever have.
After working as a licensed bond broker for an Investment Bank in Little Rock, AR, Clay returned to what he knew best and loved, the furniture industry. In 1992 Clay founded Wahlquist Brand. As in any business, in order to be successful, you must be involved in all areas, Clay personally managed events for many years. This experience has become invaluable when dealing with clients. Clay understands the ups and downs of the daily operations of the retail furniture industry.
